Public enemy number one for arable farmers is blackgrass, but all grassweeds not only compete with the crop, but due to a high seed return are a problem that can keep coming back year after year. Broad-leaved weeds may have more options for control, but with some resistance increasing in chickweed, poppies and mayweed, the importance of management and not just relying on chemical solutions applies to not only grassweeds but broad-leaved weeds as well.
