Life at Corteva with McKenzie Fuller

Something went wrong. Please try again later...

Across Corteva we are fortunate to have interns like McKenzie Fuller, providing a fresh perspective and learning what #LifeAtCorteva is like, working to support farmers and enrich lives.

McKenzie joined Corteva in March 2024 on a 6-month internship.  Let’s hear a bit more about McKenzie’s experience working as Seeds Intern for Corteva Agriscience UK and Ireland.

Tell us a little about yourself?

I grew up in Yorkshire, where I lived on my grandfather’s horse racing yard, which gave me my first insight into driving tractors. From there I started to work on a local arable farm. My favourite hobbies include rowing, tennis, and shooting. Post-internship I will be heading back to the Royal Agricultural University where I have studied agricultural business management.

What inspired you to apply for the internship role at Corteva?

Having worked for an agricultural retailer for two years prior and focusing mostly on grassland, I had seen Corteva products and had little exposure to the industry. When I saw the advert for interns, I thought this is a great opportunity to experience the industry and be part of a company that is doing so much for the grassland sector.

What has a typical day at Corteva been like for you?

Each day can be different. Some days can involve being at my desk helping category managers with projects to better understand the market and competitors, other days I could be assisting the CRM team and looking at data. Most exciting is when I can be in the field helping area managers, promoters, or field scientists with trials.

What have been your highlights of this role?

A highlight for me is seeing the trials develop and seeing some of what my degree has taught me in action. However, I have to say being part of a team that has provided me with projects that allow me to use my experience and to engage in meetings has been amazing.

Do you have any advice for people wanting to enter the agricultural sector?

Don’t be worried that entering the agricultural sector means you can only work on a farm. There are so many other roles within the industry that all help to make agriculture possible.

If you are looking for a role with a difference, Corteva is the right choice, providing valuable learning experiences. Find out more about our talented team here.
