Tell us a little bit about your role at Corteva?

I am based at Wellesbourne Field Station in Warwickshire. As a Field Scientist, I conduct a multitude of trials spanning various disciplines and crops, both on the field station and off-site on farmers' fields. My role involves conducting assessments, analyzing data, sharing results with the wider Corteva CPRD teams, and contributing to the general upkeep of the field station.

Can you describe your journey to becoming a Field Scientist at Corteva?

Shortly after completing my Master's at the University of Reading—where I worked part-time assisting PhD students with field trials—I had the opportunity to intern at Corteva for six months at Wellesbourne Field Station. This experience allowed me to build a solid foundation in agricultural field trials. After my internship, I moved to Yorkshire, where I worked on horticultural and amenity turf trials. When I saw a full-time Field Scientist position open at Corteva, I could not submit my application fast enough!

Do you have a connection to agriculture outside of Corteva?

I am from Sidon, a city in southern Lebanon, where I grew up surrounded by citrus, banana, and olive orchards. Although I don’t come from a farming family, agriculture has always been a keen interest of mine. During my high school summers, I worked in plant nurseries, primarily on citrus plantations.

What does a typical day at work look like for you?

One of the things I love most about being a Field Scientist is the variety—every day is different. Many factors determine our daily work, including the trials we're running, the time of year, unexpected challenges, and, of course, the weather.

What lessons or insights have you gained from colleagues that have helped shape your professional path?

At Corteva, I am constantly surrounded by experts in their fields. The collaborative working environment fosters continuous learning, knowledge-sharing, and teamwork, which has been invaluable to my professional growth.

What advice would you give to someone aspiring to follow your path in the agricultural industry?

Be curious, be passionate, and work hard.

Why would you recommend Corteva as a great place to work?

Absolutely. Corteva encourages both personal and professional growth while driving innovation. Stagnation is rare here—the expertise and passion of my colleagues make it an inspiring place to work. Additionally, as a global leader in agriculture, Corteva offers a diverse and inclusive workplace where you can collaborate with people from all over the world.
